Alder Point is a small fishing village located just north of Bras d'Or, where many of the longtime residents are fishermen. The local fishplant which use to be in operation for years had eventually closed it doors several years ago. My great-grandmother was a native of Alder Point. She raised a family and my mother was born right here in Alder Point, which is where I reside today with my family as of June 2004.
